Full title: Hitler, a homosexual artist?
Publisher: klup
Summary: The sensational introduction of a scientific study on Hitler causes an uproar in Germany.
Message: The newspapers can't get enough of it and the Neonazi movement is in danger of losing their big example. Professor Lothar Machtan, author of the book 'Hitlers Geheimnis' provoked a heated discussion amongst historians and neonazi's.In his book Machtan explores the evidence on Hitler's alleged homosexuality. Machtan, a historian on the University of Bremen points out that the suicide of Hitlers first love Angela Raubal (1931) was a protest against Hitler's inability to have sex with her. Angela Raubal, Hitlers niece
He argues that Eva Braun, whom Hitler married just a couple of hours before they committed suicide, had also tried to kill herself twice for that same reason. In 1908, when Hitler was 20 years of age, he shared a room with a friend in Vienna for almost four months. They both loved the same things, like Wagner and they wore the same black wintercoats and hats. Hitlers roommate wrote:"people must have thought that we were brothers, but that was what we would like them to believe". In 1915 Hitler was caught with a male prostitute in a haystack in France. His homosexuality would have been the reason why Hitler wasn't promoted during W.O.I and didn't get the rank of non commissioned officer. He had special relations with chauffeurs, some of which were Jewish. With one of them he shared a hotelroom, while he was having a relationship with Angela (1931). Chief of the SA Ernst Röhm, who was known to be homosexual, didn't get killed because of his attempt to build a new army, but was likely to be killed because he knew of Hitler's homosexuality. According to the author, Albert Speer, Hitlers architect, was also one of Hitler's lovers. Of course the critics have had their say on the book of Lothar Machtan. Historian Werner Maser, whose book on Hitler was also translated in Hebrew, says that Hitler and Eva Braun did have sexual relations and that Machtan doesn't have any new evidence to sustain his bold statements. Eva's sister, who was interviewed for Maser book, states, that Hitler and Eva did have sexual relations and that Hitler loved Eva's big breasts. Biographers Joachim Fest and Ian Kershaw have ignored the evidence that indicates Hitler's homosexuality and they say that the lack of a personal life is caracteristic for Hitler. Claus Jacobi, one of the most experienced publicists in Germany comes to the conclusion that: "One thing is for sure, something was very wrong in Hitler's pants". Big question that remains unanswered is of course: "If Hitler was indeed homosexual, why were the homosexual people of Europe persecuted, put in concentration camps and killed? Hitler, a gay artist?
